A CHINESE CARVED JADE ‘LOTUS LEAF’ WASHER.

Qing Dynasty, 19th Century.

Naturalistically carved as a wide flat leaf, the edges slightly curved, incised with a network of veins, the underside with a series of leaves and flowers borne on attendant stems, two fish carved on the surface of the leaf, 18.5cm long.

Provenance: an important South African private collection, acquired between the 1960s and 1980s, thence by descent to the present owner.
