Collection of typed letters signed by famous thespian John Gielgud, mostly addressed to Miss Gill Bannerman, mostly tahnking the recipient for her presents, one letter saying "I'm glad you enjoyed 'Dear Octopus' so much, and it's a great tribute to us all that you arrived still elated at the end of that long journey! Yes the play is a great success, and it's apleasant chage to settle down to a comparatively restful part aftre te strain...of the classical season", one page 4to, Queen's Theatre, 20th September 1938; another letter reading "I do hope you will manage to see 'The Importance of Being Ernest', which I am greatly looking forward to doing; the matinees are for theatrical charities, so I trust we shall make a nice lot of money!", one page, 4to, Queen's Theatre, 29 December 1938; also including two signed photographs of Gielgud and two unsigned ones, 1937-1939.
