The British Royal Family, late 19th century

GOOD COLLECTION OF 24 CARTE DE VISITE PHOTOS of the Royal Family consisting of a Memorial Photo of Prince Albert and another by Mayall, Prince Louise of Hesse and 2 of his wife Princess Alice by John Jabez Edwin Mayall (1813-1901), 5 images of Edward VII as Prince of Wales by George Mansfield of Dublin, the London Stereoscopic Society, Hills and Saunders (active 1860-1935)and Desmaisons, 7 images of Queen Alexandra by Russell and Sons (1863-1903), W. & D. Downey (active 1855-1940), Mayall, F. Derun of Brussells and Ghemar Freres, and a further image by Downey showing her with the infant Princess Louise on her back in 1865, taken to show the British Public how healthy the Princess of Wales was after her recovery from rheumatic fever. There is also a photo of the couple together by Hills and Saunders and a photo from their wedding in 1863 by Leopold Manley, another of Edward with his brother Prince Alfred by Southwell, and image by Mayall of Princes Arthur and Leopold. Finally there is an image of Crown Prince Frederick of Prussia by Mayall and one titled ‘The Royal Sisters’, together with two postcard photos of Edward VII.
