BOOK OF PHOTOGRAVURES OF GERMAN OCCUPATION IN NORTHERN CHINA (1897-1915), c.1900, subjects include military scenes with both German and Chinese soldiers, weapons, local daily life scenes and views of northern China, comprising the Forbidden City and the Summer Palace in Beijing, the Great Wall, Nankon Pass, Ming Tombs, Hai River, forts at Tianjin, Shanhaiguan District (Qinhuangdao). Photogravures (153), image size, approx. 250 x 170mm, 125 x 90mm, typed title in German and English, one example dated 8 June 1900, cover detached.
