A BEEF EATER OR CROMWELLIAN PEWTER FLAGON, CIRCA 1650, likely produced in London, the strap handle with a flattened twin acorn thumbpiece with open heart, stamped 'G.R.' on the rear of the thumbpiece, fixed to the lid and hinged to the long scrolled handle with bootheel terminal, the cylindrical drum on a widening convex base, bearing pewter's touchmark 'L.R.' within a beaded circle to the interior of the base.

25cm high x 18cm wide x 15cm deep

Provenance: The flagon was acquired in Flint, Michigan, USA in 1992.
