A late 19^th century Anglo – Indian silver tazza or comport, Cutch, Bhuji circa 1890 by Oomersi Mawji jnr (active 1890-1930)

Raj period, of broad circular form with pierced edge of chased foliate scrolls and flower heads, all raised on a screw thread detachable central trumpet foot with pierced and chased central knop, the short cylindrical foot section with corded rim and a chased rosette band. The field profusely chased with a central circular medallion of flower heads reserved in foliate scrolls edge with a stylised betel leaf border, the trumpet foot similarly decorated. Stamped to inside of underneath of foot with maker mark OM incuse and BHUJI incuse.
