A beautiful stylised rendering of an Agamid (dragon) lizard from the genus Calotes. With superbly detailed scales and dorsal crest. Inset green glass bead eyes. Unmarked, but attributed to the makers ‘V. Vallipuram and Sons, Negombo, Ceylon’ (now Sri Lanka), circa 1900.
