An early 20th century Burmese unmarked silver box or tea caddy, Upper Burma circa 1900
Of rectangular form with a hinged lid with a push button clasp. The hinged lid with embossed decoration of Ravana trying to capture Sita. The front with a Kinnari being grappled with by figures, the sides with an elephant and otherwise with figures. All over reserved with dense foliate scrolls, the lid edged with a stylised acanthus leaf border.
