*** Albin expands the 33 'sorts' of spider mentioned in 1671 to almost 200. He also says in his preface: “I cannot help flattering myself , but that this my particular enquiry into the nature of the Spider will be no less agreeable than useful to the publick in the cure of intermitting fevers.”
