Bruce (James) Autograph letter signed ('James Bruce') to Mr George Robinson, reading "I beg for God sake you will write me the name of the vessel for Leith which has my ink . I have been all this day and have overhauled the manifestoes of June vessells that have arrived since you wrote me you had shipped the large barrell", one page, address leaf, folding marks, scattered soiling and age toning, remnants of mount to left margin, 4to, 15 June 1789.    James Bruce of Kinnaird (1730 –  1794) was a Scottish traveller and writer who spent several years in North Africa and Ethiopia, where he managed to trace the origins of the Blue Nile.
