A SIDE PROFILE PORTRAIT OF A GENTLEMAN, c.1842, ninth plate monochromatic daguerreotype with strong blue tinge to the peripheries of the plate, in a Beard Patentee rectangular brass mount, with unmarked copper backing, the plate is comparitvely dust free, and a very fine rendering with exceptional contrast and clarity, there is a small chip recto in the glass, housed in a red morocco single lower hinged, wharton style case
