Persian manuscript on paper, between 8ll. to 15ll. to the page, the text in black ink nasta’liq script arranged in four columns, the chapter heading in gold naskh script, the illustration depicting Bahram’s wolf hunt in India, the sky painted in gold, the rocky background sheltering wild beasts, the green foreground with the king’s rain of arrows on the beast as described in Ferdowsi’s poem, mounted, framed and glazed, the revealed text panel 23.5cm x 19cm, 42cm x 34.5cm including the frame.
