An early 20th century Burmese unmarked silver small bowl, Mandalay circa 1910
Of compressed rounded form, the body with embossed decoration of various figures in a continuous frieze probably drawn from a jataka tale. All reserved against a chased ‘wallpaper’ foliate scroll background below architraves, the upper section with chased trailing scrolls and the lower section with a band of stylised acanthus leaves. The underside with a chased rosette.
