An early to mid-20th century Anglo – Indian white metal bachelor teapot, Lucknow circa 1930
Raj period, of compressed oval form upon a domed oval foot, the curved spout with chased decoration of scrolls opposite an ebonised wooden handle pinned to socket. The hinged domed lid surmounted by a fluted knop finial. The body and lid with embossed decoration in hunting pattern, showing scenes of lion to one side, then elephant and antelope to the other, each against trees. Unmarked.
