A rare early 20th century Anglo – Indian silver tea caddy, Karachi circa 1920 by J. Manikrai

Raj period. Of compressed circular bulbous form with a pull off domed lid. The body with chased decoration of a caravan of four camels lead by a single walker and another of two camels lead by a single walker, all reserved against a textured ground. The lid chased with a single camel and walker in the dessert. Marked underneath J. MANIKRAI, T95, KARACHI.

Height – 10 cm / 4 inches

Weight – 448 grams / 14.4 ozt
