A CHINESE BRONZE STANDING FIGURE OF GUANYIN.

A CHINESE BRONZE FIGURE OF GUANYIN.

Probably 17th Century.

Standing in long flowing robes with hems decorated with floral scrolls, the left hand crossed delicately over the right, the face with a serene expression framed by elaborately coiffed hair beneath the cowl, wearing a jewelled necklace, matched by a tassel extending from the skirt, visible between her feet which are supported on a base composed of swirling clouds, 30.5cm H, 1.81kg.

Provenance: from the collection of an English lady, received as a wedding gift in the 1950s, by repute.
