A PAIR OF FINE ISFAHAN RUGS, WEST PERSIA, EARLY 20th CENTURY, approx. 2.33m x 1.40m and 2.31m x 1.38m. Black ground of flowering vines and palmettes with a large burgundy red indented medallion of interlocking arabesques and flowering vines with similar ivory spandrels. All surrounded by a burgundy red border of palmettes and flowering leafy vines. Outer sandy-yellow floral meander and red plain stripes. Both rugs are in good condition with light wear, one having slightly more wear in one corner. Very attractive.
