Opaque pigments, ink and pencil heightened with gold on paper, comprising three illustrated folios, each with 8 - 9ll. of black ink naskh script to the page, the text divided into four parallel columns, the later-added, polychrome-painted illustrations depicting scenes extracted from the epic Book of Kings (Shahnameh), from battles to wise men's gatherings, reminiscent in style of provincial 15th-century Turkmen and 16th-century Shirazi school productions, mounted, glazed and framed, each folio 20.2cm x 13.8cm, 39cm x 28.7cm including the frame.
