Gould (John)

A collection of sixteen hand-coloured lithographs from 'The Birds of Asia', printed by Hullmandel & Walter, or Walter, 1850-53.

*** 'The Birds of Asia', which took thirty-four years to complete, is considered one of Gould’s greatest accomplishments. Although Gould likely created the original sketches, he utilized many talented artists to produce the finished lithographs, including his wife Elizabeth Coxen Gould, Edward Lear, Joseph Wolf, William Hart, and H. C. Richter.
