An early 20th century Anglo – Indian unmarked silver mounted padouk wood dressing table mirror or photograph frame, probably Bombay circa 1910
Raj period, of shaped cartouche form, with applied pierced work central silver interior in the Cutch style. The sinuous outline corned with embossed vignettes of buildings and trees, one with a walled colonnade, all within three C scrolls, reserved with chased foliage. A vacant cartouche to the base and a C scroll cartouche to the top supported by peacocks, engraved with initials CSM in gothic cypher. Rectangular aperture, glazed. Easel back of splat form, the backing plate held by pierced silver corner brackets.
