A very large mid- 20th century Thai silver casket, Chiang Mai circa 1950

in the Burmese style, of rectangular form with rounded corners, the pull-off lid and base with high relief embossed scenes of figures dancing and in devotion, as well an elephant visiting a figure in bed, all against a textured ‘wallpaper’ background. Cornered and bordered with pierced foliate forms.
