*** One of the few Italian contributions to the great botanical works of the 18th century. Fewer than 300 copies are believed to have been published.

Dunthorne praises this work for the illustrations which are "engraved in an unusually broad manner, well-coloured with opaque colours, producing extremely decorative plates, noteworthy among which are those of melons, cucumbers, gourds, pineapple, aloes, tulips, datura &c.".
