Letter signed ('Your affectionate father Napol.'), in French, to 'mon fils' [his stepson, Eugene Napoleon, son of Josephine by her previous marriage] saying that a courier who travelled through Vienna will bring him some orders, also mentioning Colonel Foy and Eugene's aide-de-camp Jean-Joseph-Augustin Sorbier, who is instructed to take to Sebastiani [Napoleon's ambassador in Constantinople] 200.000 francs, Napoleon has also added the date and place at the conclusion, Finckenstein, 18 April 1807, matted with a 19th-century lithograph, light intersecting mailing folds, otherwise fine, clean condition, overall size 36 x 47cm.
