A mixed group 20th century Iranian (Persian) silver

Comprisinng a niello nuts basket, Tabriz circa 1940, Pahlavi dynasty, of oval form with serrated edge, in the Russian trompe l'oeil manner simulating a basket. Pierced sides representing basket weave, the centre with engraved bouquet of flowers with niello decoration reserved with engine turning. The shaped swing handle with engine turned edge and niello decoration. All raised on four bracket feet with stylised niello leaves. Marked to reverse of border with partial workshop mark. Length – 14.5 cm / 5.75 inches, Weight – 118 grams / 3.79 ozt. A table bell, Isfahan circa 1970, the bell section with engraved ghalam zani decoration of vine scroll cartouches reserved with strapwork and ring punching, interspaced with peony vignettes, all above a band of rosettes. The twin scroll handle heightened with chased decoration. Clapper present. Unmarked. Height – 12 cm / 4.75 inches Weight – 107 grams / 3.44 ozt. A christening set, Isfahan circa 1950, the beaker with mark of Rasool Parvaresh, Pahlavi dynasty, comprising a beaker napkin ring, spoon, fork, and knife (weighted handles). The beaker of tapering cylindrical form with engraved ghalam zani decoration with shaped arabesque cartouches reserved with strap work, flower heads and ring punching, interspaced with peony vignettes flanked by birds’ heads, all below a rosette band and corded rim. The napkin ring with similar peony arabesques, the spoon with a nightingale among flower heads (gul-o-bolbol). The fork and knife with silver blades/ prongs, the fork handle with engraved ghalam zani arabesques and flowers heads, the knife handle with stylised leaves. The beaker marked underneath standard mark (۸۴), and workshop mark رسول پرورش , the spoon with standard mark (۸۴), and obscured workshop mark, the other elements unmarked. (5) Beaker height – 5.9 cm / 2.4 inches Weighable silver – 141 grams / 4.53 ozt (Presented as a gift to the vendor in 1950).
