A George III sterling silver nutmeg grater, London 1786 by Thomas Phipps and Edward Robinson
Of oval with stand-away hinged, the lid with moulded rim. Engraved to the lid with initials MG in flourished cursive script within a bright cut engraved oval cartouche above crossed laurel branches. The underside with a hinged compartment and bright cut decoration. The interior with a steel grill. Fully marked to base and part-marked to lid.
