PROPERTY FROM AN IMPORTANT EUROPEAN PRIVATE COLLECTION
Iran, mid to late 19th century

Of rectangular shape, each lacquered panel polychrome-painted and heightened with gold, the horizontal composition depicting a floral triumph with a large iris in the centre, surrounded by hyacinths, roses, lilies of the valley, wild berries and birds, all against a dark brown background, within two concentric frames with floral festoons, the back plain, 24cm x 37.3cm.
