Artist Description:
Brazilian artist Antonio Malta Campos applies the unstable wonder of musical improvisation or jamming principles to his unpredictable but close-fitting paintings. The artist begins his works with a single pattern that expands over time into interweaving layers and shapes, light and dark. Like a building up of sound, the image starts to define organic forms: two solitary characters in a minimal landscape looking straight into the void or staring at us as lost heroes.
