An early 20th century Burmese unmarked silver bowl, Rangoon circa 1910
Of compressed circular form with flat base. The body with embossed high relief decoration of figural cartouches depicting Jakarta scenes, an elephant and sage vindura-pandita, figures pulled in a horse drawn chariot, a figure asleep in a tree, a water carrier pursued by a Chinthe, figures pouring tea in front of buildings, each reserved in strapwork with foliate scrolls and vignettes infilled with devas (celestial sprites). The front with a vacant shaped cartouche, all held above a band of betel leaves and below a foliate scroll convex ridge.
