A late 19th / early 20th century Anglo – Indian unmarked silver cruet, Kashmir circa 1900
Raj period, formed as a chinar leaf with an applied handle formed as a coiled and nowed serpent, all upon four serpent head feet. The leaf body with chased decoration in rosette pattern with three sunken recesses containing a salt, a pepper pot, and a mustard pot. Each cruet item of lobed lotus sepal form, the salt and mustard with gilt interior. The mustard pot with a hinged lid (pin deficient) and the pepper pot with screw thread bung.
