A LARGE BANSHAN PAINTED POTTERY VESSEL Gansu province, Circa 3rd Century B.C The large vessel with a piriform body, tapering to a flat base, with two small loop handles attached at the side of the vessel and a short slightly flared neck, the vessel is decorated with decoration in umber slip in several registers, including a row of headless zoomorphic figures, two bands of concentric circles and cross-hatching on the neck, 48cm high.
