SOUTH ARABIAN ALABASTER STELE FRAGMENT WITH A BULL HEAD Circa 1st Century B.C. - 1st Century A.D. Carved in high relief protruding from a rectangular plaque with the lower section missing, the details of the bull's head including the eyes, brows and muzzle are incised, the small ears are carved in lower relief behind the horns one of which is missing, 16.4cm high, Provenance: Property from the collection of Mr and Mrs P. Mavroudis, acquired in the early 20th century, Aden, Literature: For a very similar example see the alabaster stela in the British Museum (museum number: 141540)
