Each vase with a globular body resting atop a cylindrical foot and rising to a flaring neck, painted with butterflies hovering between a band of lappets encircling the foot and a row of ruyi-heads to the rim, the shoulder decorated with a border of shou characters between large lotus flowers amidst scrolling leafy stems and enclosed by raised bands painted in gilt, each with a six-character Guangxu mark to the base,
