An early 19th century Dutch silver bachelor teapot, Amsterdam 1837 by Theodorous Gerardus Bentveld (1782-1853)

Of elliptical form upon a spreading elliptical base, the curved spout opposite an ebonised D section handle pinned to socket. The pull off lid with reeded rim and a detachable rounded wooden finial. Fully marked underneath with makers mark TGB and date letter C, the lid and side of handle marked with later import marks for London 1891 by Samuel Boyce Landeck, also with dolphin duty mark.
