A late 19th century Anglo - Indian unmarked silver coffee pot, Cutch circa 1880
Raj period. Of baluster form upon four scroll feet with chased shell junctions. The curved spout with a beast head terminal opposite a shell capped C scroll handle fitted with wooden insulators pinned to scroll junctions. The hinged domed lid surmounted by a finial formed as a caparisoned elephant. The body with chased panels of foliate scroll and rosettes, similarly decorated to the body, spout, lid and handle, all with borders of acanthus leaves.
