Two late 19th century Indian Colonial unmarked silver presentation trowels

Two late 19th century Indian Colonial unmarked silver presentation trowels

One with filled tubular handle, engraved with presentation inscription “With this trowel the Foundation Stone of the Colvin Institute Building was laid by Hon’ble Sir Auckland Colvin, K.C.M.G., Lieutenant – Governor N.-W.P and chief commissioner, Oudh, on the 11th March 1890”. Together with another trowel with a wooden handle, engraved to the front “Prepared for laying the foundation stone of the guns, 9-6-1894” below a flower, the reverse with presentation inscription “Presentation to L.A.S. Porter EsqR Collector & Magistrate Bulandshahr. Byk. Kirpakrishna, K. Badrikrishna Sikandarabad. N.W.P., 9-6-1894.”. (2)
