A MEISSEN MILK JUG, circa 1745, both sides painted in with landscape vignettes depicting Watteauesque figures, the rim with a gilt Laub- und Bandelwerk border, the scroll handle and spout with gilt scroll detailing edged in puce, 13.3cm high, crossed swords mark in underglaze-blue, impressed numeral 24, gold letter E. inside the footrim (cover lacking) PROVENANCE: Private German collection.
