A Louis XV mid-18th century French provincial silver écuelle base, Dijon 1751-54 possibly by Joseph II Dargent (active 1754-1788)

Of dished circular form, each side with cast and applied splayed shell handles. Marked with town mark, date letter Y (used July 1751- July 1754) and makers mark to each handle and bowl rim.

Length – 29.6 cm / 11.7 inches

Weight – 443 grams / 14.24 ozt
