A LATE 18^TH / EARLY 19^TH CENTURY FRENCH UNMARKED GOLD MOUNTED IVORY SNUFF BOX, CIRCA 1800

Of circular form, the lift off lid with an inset oval reverse painted glass en grisaille panel of an allegory of education, sat before a globe attended to by a putto reserved with red, glazed. Edged with unmarked gold mounts engraved with guilloche bands. Tortoiseshell interior.
