A mid-20th century Burmese unmarked silver bowl, Rangoon circa 1950
Of circular form with a rounded base. The body with embossed decoration of Ramayana scenes. Depicting scenes from Rama and the Demon Tataka, Tataka’s son Maricha and Subahu descending to earth to attack Rama, Maricha assuming the form of a golden deer. The upper section with a convex band chased with foliate scrolls, the lower most section with a band of stylised scrolls. Burmese script underneath.
