A LATE 19TH CENTURY FRENCH GILT BRONZE FIRESCREEN BY CHARLES CASIER, PARIS with an oval frame cast as laurel leaves and surmounted by a flaming finial and quiver of arrows crest with a laurel wreath, raised on supports with fluted shafts surmounted by feathers and on acanthus, scrolling feet, the central mesh with an ormolu mount depicting frolicking Cupids, stamped 'CH CASIER' with the entwined CC, 89cm high x 66cm wide Auction comparable: A similar firescreen by Charles Casier with a central mount of Venus and Cupid was sold at Christie's, New York, 21 October 2014, lot 270, $3000.
