A VERY FINE SIGNED PART SILK TABRIZ CARPET, NORTH-WEST PERSIA approx: 10ft.1in. x 6ft.6in.(307cm. x 198cm.) Very nicely drawn design with tree multicoloured concentric floral medallions surrounded by scrolling floral vine. Very good colour combination with ivory field and soft beige border. This carpet has full pile with top quality kurk wool and silk infusion on the field, medallions and border design. Both ends with part pile cartouches on the short kilim together with fringes. Selvages, original. apart of tiny few very light dots in one corner, barely visible, this carpet is in an excellent condition throughout. Very fine weave, approx: 9 x 9 knots per sq. cm; (approx.4.9 million knots), woven on silk foundation. Very attractive and lovely furnishing piece. mid-second half 20th century
