A GROUP OF FOUR SILK BROCADE COVERS

A joined cover of ivory silk, brocaded in coloured silks with rows of repeating floral bushes within heat-marked lozenges, in a brocaded outer border, edged with diagonally cut blue silk, lined in pink silk, with four old collection tags, 38cm x 31cm; another cover in red brocaded silk, similarly heat-marked, the border of floral sprigs in armband grids, the corners of fuchsia satin silk with floral sprigs, edged with diagonally cut dark indigo glazed cotton, lined in ecru cotton, 74cm x 82cm; another cover, the centre of pale aubergine with heat-marked lozenges around brocaded floral clusters, the border of salmon pink with sparse rows of floral sprigs, edged with diagonally cut indigo cotton, lined with coarse dark green cotton block-printed with alternating rows of floral sprigs, 50cm x 57cm; and a fourth cover, using the same pale aubergine brocaded centre within a brocaded red damask border, corners with large-scale butis on black satin ground, edged with diagonally-cut blue cotton, lined in coarse pale yellow cotton block-printed in alternating rows of floral sprays, 40cm x 39cm.
