A cased George III sterling silver vinaigrette, Birmingham 1802 by Lawrence and Allen (active circa 1801-3)

Of oval form with stand away hinged, the lid later engraved G.A.H in gothic script above May 7th 1884 from E.H. in cursive script. The gilt interior with hinged pierced grill of foliate scroll heightened with engraving. Housed within a later fitted Moroccan leather case. Fully marked to lid, the base and grill unmarked.

Length – 4.5 cm / 1.75 inches

Weight – 29 grams / 0.93 ozt
