A FINE QUM RUG, CENTRAL PERSIA

The ivory field with overall design of stylised flowering arabesques and rows of multicoloured floral boteh motifs. In soft red border of stylised hooked tree motifs, boteh and delicate floral vine between light blue flowring vine stripes, outer shaped yellow floral panel and plain stripes, approx: 6ft.11in. x 4ft.8in.(211cm. x 142cm.). Lovely example for this type with well drawn design and well balanced colours. Apart of slight localized wear to the pile on the edge cord at one side, this rug has full pile, soft and lustrous wool and in general is in very good usable condition. Selvages original. Ends with short fringes. Fine weave, approx; 7 x 6 knots per sq. cm. Attractive and very good furnishing piece
