A pair of George III sterling silver wine labels, London circa 1780 by Hester Bateman

Of scroll crescent form with an oval cartouche engraved with a crest of on a mount, a fox with a cinquefoil in the mouth, gadrooned edges, incised MADERIRA and SHERRY, each with a belcher chain. Marked to the reverse lion passant and makers mark only. (2)

Length across – 4.5 cm / 1.75 inches

Weight – 24 grams / 0.77 ozt
