An early 20th century French 950 standard silver gilt and gilt bronze chalice, Paris by Louis & Arthur Démarquet, with import marks for Dublin 1904 by C.W (untraced)

The gilt silver bowl attached to a gothic style hexafoil base with beaded edge. The base applied with three bossed of paste amethyst stones, with stamped bead work encircled in a course of white paste. The pull off lid surmounted by a cross. The base engraved with inscription “Pray for the Donor C. Ormrod & Parents, St Comgall’s Convent, Larne, August 12th 09”. French marks to bezel, Irish import marks to side. The underside stamped Bronze and additionally struck Electro Plate.
