A George III sterling silver novelty jockey cap caddy spoon, London circa 1790 by Hester Bateman

Plain form with incised lines, the reverse with applied wirework. Marked to the edge of visor with makers mark, lion passant and duty mark only.

Length – 5.65 cm / 2.25 inches

Weight – 15 grams / 0.48 ozt

A similar jockey cap caddy spoon, with engraved decoration, marked the same way to the visor was sold Woolley and Wallis, 25 Jul 2007, Lot 100 (£560 hammer)
