A mid- 20th century French 950 standard silver ewer or beer jug, Paris circa 1970 by Souche-Lapparra (reg. 30th April 1960)
In the Regence style, of helmet form upon a domed spreading circular foot with central knop. The cast C scroll handle with a maiden’s head terminal. The body with applied cut strapwork arabesques with grotesques masks interspersed with tied hops. The upper section with flat chased foliate scroll against a matted ground and egg and scroll rim. Marked to side of handle (makers mark used 1960-1998) and standard mark to foot.
