A Louis XVI late 18th century French provincial silver twin handled cup (coupe à deux anses), Beaune 1785 by Denis Rougeot (active 1775-1819, b. 1752)

Of hemispherical form, upon a stepped shaped circular foot, with applied twin scroll handles and heart shaped lower junctions (one detached but present). The stepped base with chased decoration of a stylised guilloche band, and a shaped footrim. Marked to the side with makers mark twice, charge and discharge mark (jurisdiction of Dijon), and town mark.
