A CHINESE GILT-BRONZE FIGURE OF AMITAYUS BUDDHA. Qing Dynasty, Qianlong period, dated 1780, or later. Seated in the lotus position, his hands resting gently above the feet, wearing a robe tied over his left shoulder, an elaborate headdress enclosing a high chignon, bracelets and a thick necklace, framed by a separately cast flaming mandorla with traces of red paint, raised upon a pierced pedestal inscribed to the base, 19.5cm H, 1.2kg.
